Short Biography

I’m Fil-Aussie and grew up in Newcastle, Australia with my parents and two brothers.

Boys being boys, I grew up with an inherent love for competition so being active in sports was naturally my development pathway for self-expression.

At university, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and furthered my education by studying Fitness / strength & conditioning as well as Training and Assessment teaching.

Whilst studying, I first worked in research and then moved into the health and fitness setting consulting with a number of clients on a range of journeys but mostly for weight loss, muscle gain, exercise as well as overall health and wellbeing such as gut health, cardiovascular health, mobility etc.

In 2010, fate would present an opportunity to play international level sports for the Philippine Volcanoes national rugby team. Without hesitation, I grabbed this once in a lifetime chance not knowing my life was about to change. I flew to the Philippines and the rest was history.

During my 8 year long stint as an athlete, I also taught my holistic performance secrets in the areas of nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management to everyone from regular active individuals to international athletes and even national sporting organisations. I was able to contribute to a variety of companies such as Adidas, Unilab, Fitness First, Optimum Nutrition, Color Manila, URC, as well as drive the elite performance of some well-known international championships wins for the Philippines.

After COVID, I landed back in Australia with my wife and daughter and started back in my hometown Newcastle conducting health screening assessments and public speaking for blue collar industries about the importance of health, nutrition, exercise and sleep particularly to those who wanted to lose weight, gain muscle or simply claim back their lives through healthy living such as regular exercise or optimised gut health.

Now, I’ve decided it’s time to focus on what I’m good at and help everyday active individuals on their health and nutrition journeys – and so Momentum Dietetics was born. I’m very excited about the journey ahead. I look forward to working together soon.
